In 1984, Mark Sanders designed a folding car as one of his graduation projects. By 1985, he had spent nearly a year designing the first STRIDA folding car by hand. Of course, there was no name for him at that time.

In 2002, Bass moved its production base to Taiwan in order to meet the demand for orders, and the STRiDA was manufactured by Taiwan Yongqi Auto. With the advent of the third generation STRiDA, the products were exported to Italy and other countries. Taiwan Yongqi auto industry has also started to establish agents in various countries, including South Korea, Japan, Holland, France and so on. In 2005, STRiDA5.0, a disc brake version developed by Taiwan yongqi, applied for multinational patents. In 2006 STRiDA3.2 won the innovation award in the Netherlands. In 2007, STRiDA5.0 was released and won the third place in the Innovation Award of the Taiwan Bicycle Association. In the same year, Taiwan Yongqi Auto purchased STRiDA and successfully sold it to more than 20 countries on four continents.
In 2009, new STRiDA LT steel wheels and STRiDA SX 18 'were introduced, providing a wider range of riding options. In 2010, the patent quick disassembly cushion box was put into production, so that the height of the cushion can be easily adjusted. In 2012, the newly developed STRiDA EVO three-speed transmission came into production, allowing riders to easily overcome all road conditions.
